Construction commences on $330m Southwest Florida International Airport Expansion in the US

Construction work on the $330m Southwest Florida International Airport Expansion located in Fort Myers, Florida, the US commenced in Q4 2021. It was announced in Q2 2019.

The project involves the expansion of the airport in Fort Myers, Florida, the US.

The project includes the following:

1. Construction of on- and off-ramps
2. Construction of access roads
3. Construction of a 16-lane configuration
4. Construction of additional seating facility
5. Construction of concession spaces
6. Construction of a business lounge
7. Construction of 10,869m2 of walkways
8. Construction of an airport transit station
9. Construction of bike lanes
10. Remodeling of 15,236m2 space
11. Upgrade of terminal one
12. Installation of safety and security systems

Construction on the project is expected to be completed by Q4 2024.

Owners of the project include US-based Lee County Port Authority.
