Five largest construction projects initiated in France in Q2 2022

Here are the five largest construction projects initiated in France during Q2 2022, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Gruissan Floating Offshore Wind Farm 30 MW – $236m

The project involves the construction of a floating offshore wind farm with a power generation capacity of 30MW in France.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q2 2024.

The primary objective of the project is to meet the growing demand for energy in France.

2. Les Moulins de Lohan Wind Farm 65 MW – $130m

The project involves the construction of a 65MW wind farm on a 16ha of land in Lanouée, located in the Morbihan department of Brittany region.

Construction work commenced in Q2 2022 and is expected to finish in Q4 2023.

The wind turbines are located in the south-eastern part of the Lanouée forest located in the town of Forges.

3. Villejean Waste-to-Energy Plant Modernization – $127m

The project involves the modernization of a waste-to-energy plant in Villejean, Rennes, Brittany.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is forecast to complete in Q4 2023.

The project’s aim is to improve environmental performance, generate energy and, integrate safety of the plant in its neighborhood.

4. Jacques Chirac Cite International School – $122m

The project involves the construction of a nine-story high school building on a 26,000m2 area in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône department, Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur region.

Construction work commenced in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q3 2024.

The project aims to accommodate more than 2,100 students, from first grade to high school, and offer excellent teaching around five languages (English, German, Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic).

5. American Hospital of Paris Expansion – $106m

The project involves the expansion of a new five-story hospital building on a 10,437m2 area located in the municipality of Neuilly-sur-Seine, department of Hauts-de-Seine, Ile-de-France region.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2026.

The project is the hospital’s biggest investment since the Second World War.
