Five largest construction projects initiated in Malaysia in Q3 2022

Here are the five largest construction projects initiated in Malaysia during Q3 2022, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Seremban Cylindrical Battery Manufacturing Plant 2 – $1,300m

The project involves the construction of a cylindrical battery plant in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

Construction work started in Q3 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2025.

The project aims to manufacture cylindrical batteries to meet the raising demand.

2. Astrum Ampang Residential Development – $350m

The project involves the construction of a residential complex comprising six blocks on 2.7ha of land in Ampang, Selangor.

Construction work commenced in Q3 2022 and is expected to finish in Q3 2025.

The project aims to provide better residential, commercial and retail facilities in the region.

3. Bintulu Additional Gas Sales Facilities 2 (BAGSF2) – $120m

The project involves the construction of a gas processing plant with a capacity of 390MMSCFD in Bintulu, Sarawak.

Construction work started in Q3 2022 and is forecast to complete in Q4 2023.

The project aims to meet the growing demand for natural gas requirements in the country.

4. Jernih Residence @ Kajang – $112m

The project involves the construction of a residential community with two blocks comprising 1,605 serviced apartments and 41 retail shophouses on 2.1ha of land in Kajang, Selangor.

Construction work commenced in Q3 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q2 2026.

The project aims to provide better residential and retail facilities in the region.

5. Kulim Hi-Tech Park Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant – $111m

The project involves the construction of a semiconductor equipment manufacturing plant with three and two-story office space on a 75,623m2 floor area in Kulim, Kedah.

Construction work started in Q3 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q3 2023.

The project aims to meet the growing demand for semiconductor equipment. It will create 250 jobs.
