Five largest construction projects initiated in Malaysia in Q4 2021

Here are the five largest construction projects initiated in Malaysia during Q4 2021, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Sarawak-Sabah Link Road – $1,252m

The project involves the construction of a 425km road between Sarawak and Sabah in Malaysia.

Construction work started in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2026.

The project aims to connect the interior of Sarawak and Sabah, replacing the existing timber roads and will connect 14 towns in the interior areas of Sarawak and Sabah.

2. Kedah Rubber City – $600m

The project involves the construction of an industrial park on 600ha of land at Bukit Ketapang Farm, Terap Terap in Padang Terap, Kedah district, Malaysia.

Construction work commenced in Q4 2021 and is expected to finish in Q4 2025.

The aim of the project is to develop the rubber industry in Malaysia, as well as to help improve the living standards of the local population.

3. MY06 Data Center Campus – $591m

The project involves the construction of a data center campus comprising three buildings with a combined capacity of 100MW IT load on 16.18ha of land in Sedenak, Johor, Malaysia.

Construction work started in Q4 2021 and is forecast to complete in Q4 2023.

4. Dorsett Waterfront Subang – $180m

The project involves the construction of a residential complex comprising three 21-story towers on 1.82ha of land in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

Construction work commenced in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2024.

The project is aiming to attract young professionals looking for their  first home with a broad range of facilities.

5. Yong Peng to Lenggeng Transmission Line: Package I – $140m

A transmission line is planned for development between Yong Peng East in Johor and Lenggeng in Negeri Sembilan.

Construction work started in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2024.
