Here are the five largest construction projects initiated in Spain during Q4 2021, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Hotel Forum – $223m

The project involves the construction of the Hotel Forum in Barcelona on a 3.2ha area with a total gross floor area of 52,593m2 in Catalonia, Spain.

Construction work started in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2022.

The project’s aim is to provide luxury accommodation facilities for both the corporate sector and tourists in the region.

2. Punta Norte Residential Complex – $220m

The project involves the construction of the Punta Norte residential complex in Basque Country, Spain.

Construction work commenced in Q4 2021 and is expected to finish in Q4 2024.

The project’s aim is to meet the growing requirements for residential apartments in the region.

3. Palencia-Aguilar de Campoo High-Speed Railway Line: Palencia Norte-Amusco section – $114m

The project involves the construction of the Palencia-Aguilar de Campoo Highspeed railway line: Palencia Norte-Amusco section in Castile and León, Spain.

4. Valladolid Solar Power Complex 112 MW – $80m

The project involves the construction of a solar power complex with a total of seven solar power plants in Valladolid, Castile and Leon, Spain.

Construction work commenced in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2022.

The project aims to meet the growing demand for electricity in the region.

5. Sinova Wastewater Treatment Plant – $72m

The project involves the construction of the Sinova wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 48,000m3/day in Soria, Castile and Leon, Spain.

Construction work started in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q2 2024.

The purpose of the construction is to discharge treated water downstream from the Los Rábanos reservoir, which includes the treatment of the discharges from the towns of Soria and Los Radishes.
