Five largest construction projects initiated in the UK in Q3 2022

Here are the five largest construction projects initiated in the UK during Q3 2022, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Trinity Way Residential Towers – $1,010m

The project involves the construction of four towers ranging from 39 to 60 stories in two plots with a total of 1,950 apartments in Manchester.

Construction work started in Q3 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q1 2031.

The project aims to provide better residential facilities in the region.

2. Leeds General Infirmary Hospitals Redevelopment – $843m

The project involves the construction of two hospitals at the Leeds General Infirmary site in Leeds, England.

Construction work commenced in Q3 2022 and is expected to finish in Q4 2025.

The project will be built as part of the NHS’s Hospitals of the Future program, a 10-year piece of work to transform healthcare for patients in the region.

3. Waterloo Estate Regeneration – $572m

The project involves the construction of 1,380 new homes in Greater London.

Construction work started in Q3 2022 and is forecast to complete in Q4 2024.

The main aim of the project is to demolish two existing 12-story residential towers and 25 two, four and six-story buildings and provide better residential facilities in the region.

4. 120 Fleet Street Office Building Redevelopment – $507m

The project involves the redevelopment of an Art Deco office and construction of a new 21-story office building in London, England.

Construction work commenced in Q3 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q2 2026.

The project aims to transform the art deco River Court and the Daily Express building into a publicly accessible cultural destination with social and educational outreach and a Grade-A office building. It will become home to a free publicly accessible landscaped public roof garden.

5. Teesside Monopile Manufacturing Plant – $473m

The project involves the construction of a monopile manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 150 monopiles per annum on 36ha of land in Teesside, North Yorkshire.

Construction work started in Q3 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2026.

The project aims to produce monopiles of up to 120m in length, 15.5m diameter and weighing 3,000 tonnes per year for the wind turbine industry and be the world’s largest monopile plant.
