Here are the top five office building construction projects that commenced in the UK in Q2 2022, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Space House Refurbishment – $150m

The project involves the construction of a 23,690m2 commercial office space in London’s Covent Garden, London the UK.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q3 2023.

The property set across two interconnected buildings was designed by Richard Seifert & Partners in 1968 and was first occupied by the Civil Aviation Authority. Both buildings will go through an extensive redevelopment to create 23,690m2 of sustainable and smart Grade A office space.

2. Canary Wharf Tower Renovation – $135m

The project involves the renovation of a 42-story office building in Greater London.

Construction work commenced in Q2 2022 and is expected to finish in Q4 2025.

The project aims to fully renovate the existing building to create flexible work and collaboration spaces alongside well-being zones for its overall 9,000 employees in the building.

3. Fetter Lane Office Development – $105m

The project involves the construction of a 12-story, 13,282m2 office building in Farringdon, Greater London.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is forecast to complete in Q2 2024.

It will be located on the corner of Fetter Lane and Breams Buildings adjoining the St Dunstan Gardens.

4. 11 Belgrave Road Office Building – $65m

The project involves the construction of a Grade A office building on 1,0033m2 of land at Pimlico in Greater London.

Construction work commenced in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2023.

The main aim of the project is to provide net-zero carbon office accommodation facilities in the region.

5. 71/72 Kingsway Office Complex – $42m

The project involves the construction of 10,590.94m2, a five-story, and two underground levels office complex at the former Oceana nightclub, Kingsway, Swansea.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2023.

The project aims to provide better office and infrastructure facilities in the region.
