Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France has received a contract from French property development company Emerige to renovate 17 Boulevard Morland in Paris for €146m.

As part of the contract, Bouygues will renovate the complex, which will feature a 161-room hotel, a youth hostel, shops, a nursery, cultural amenity, and 199 homes.

The terrace of the 50m building will feature optical effects and 360° reflections designed by artist Olafur Eliasson in partnership with Studio Other Spaces.

With 44,000m² of floor space, the ground floor of the complex will house various shops and a food market.

Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France CEO Bernard Mounier said: “Morland Mixité Capitale, one of the flagship sites of the ‘Reinventing Paris’ initiative, spotlights Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France know-how in meeting the challenges of mixed uses and energy management in carrying out one of the capital’s largest mixed-use developments, which will provide Parisians with an innovative living area.”

The company has commenced construction of the project, which is expected to complete in 29 months. The project is providing around 665 on-site jobs.

The 17 Boulevard Morland complex will also feature 2,300m² of roof-top flower and vegetable gardens along with artificial intelligence solutions.

As part of the renovation, the building will secure HQE Excellent, BREEAM Bespoke International Very Good and BBC Effinergie certifications for office space as well as HQE Excellent and BBC Effinergie Rénovation for housing.
