The Ebbsfleet Development Corporation has approved the masterplan of Keepmoat Homes for the construction of 600 new homes at Ebbsfleet Garden City in the Eastern Quarry area, known as Whitecliffe, Kent, UK.
The project is part of the UK Government’s aim to establish up to 15,000 homes and create a modern garden city in north Kent. The Eastern Quarry area will also be home to Ashmere and Alkerden villages.

Under the project, around 4,600 homes will be built at the location, where work on 1,600 homes in Castle Hill has already begun.
Planning permission was granted last year after Homes England completed remediation work to prepare the land for development in collaboration with Gravesham Borough Council and Ebbsfleet Development Corporation.
Construction of 600 new homes is set to begin following a deal between Homes England and developer Keepmoat Homes, 224 of which will be affordable.
Owned by Henley Camland, the 667-acre site is located 19 miles south-east of central London and near the Bluewater Shopping Centre and Ebbsfleet International rail station.

By GlobalDataIn addition to new homes, Alkerden will feature a new market centre with commercial, retail and community facilities while Ashmere will have Kentish design codes.
Alkerden will include a primary and secondary education campus, library, sports facilities and a mixed-use centre.
Ebbsfleet Development chief executive Ian Piper said: “This new development by Keepmoat will transform this important waterfront area and make a great contribution to Ebbsfleet Garden City, by bringing new homes and community facilities to Northfleet.”
Housing provider Clarion and developer Countryside entered a joint venture last year to construct 2,600 new homes on the Ashmere site.
The first batch of homes is expected to be completed by May 2020 and the rest of the development by 2025.
Keepmoat Homes has agreed to build more than 100 units a year.
