Assa Abloy launches tornado-resistant opening solution for buildings

The new third-party, UL-tested Factory Glazed StormPro 320 door system helps ensure support occupants in safe rooms and storm shelters of small businesses and residential homes by shielding against flying debris.

Assa Abloy door security solutions windstorm coordinator Jim Bell said: "Tornadoes can bring violent winds of up to 250 miles per hour, with enough force to cause massive destruction to homes and towns, along with heartbreaking deaths and injuries.

The Factory Glazed StormPro 320 door is designed to offer stable operation and aesthetics in normal use and is claimed to be ever-ready for the next tornado.

Said to be offered with a factory installed 10in x 10in tornado-resistant glass kit, the door facilitates safe peep to view the storm status.

According to Assa Abloy, the tornado-resistant glazing is also classified to FEMA 320 guidelines and ICC 500 standards.

The StormPro 320 assembly includes UL-labelled doors, cylindrical locks, dead bolts, hinges, closers, position switches, and power transfers from Assa Abloy hardware brands.
