London-based built-asset consultancy EC Harris has completed work on the JOD151m ($212m) TAJ Lifestyle Centre in Jordan.
The 150,000m2 TAJ Lifestyle Centre is located at Abdoun in the Jordanian capital Amman; the upscale multi-purpose shopping complex features over 190 retail stores. EC Harris commenced work on the TAJ scheme when it was about two-thirds complete.
EC Harris partner Simon Light said: "TAJ Lifestyle will become a major part of Amman’s retail landscape and we are delighted to have been involved in this prestigious scheme.
"We have utilised our experience and knowledge of delivering major shopping mall schemes in the MENA region to the benefit of the developer, investors and tenants."
The services provided by the firm include programme management, cost and commercial management, project and construction management, and contract solutions. Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects Company is developing the Taj Lifestyle Centre and after completion it will feature a multi-purpose catering facility, cinemas, advanced arcade centres, retail outlets, food courts, kids zones, restaurants and cafes.
Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects chairman Halim Salfiti said: "EC Harris first came onboard in July 2010 and since then they have played a key role in the delivery of this spectacular lifestyle concept, helping to ensure that the project is completed to the committed budget, programme and specification."
TAJ Lifestyle Centre was designed by American firm F + A Architecture as part of Al Tajamouat Industrial City, launched in 1997. EC Harris has previously worked on several shopping malls across the MENA region, including the Mirdif City Centre in Dubai, the Bloomingdales store in Dubai Mall, the Al Wahda Shopping Mall in Abu Dhabi and Doha Festival City in Qatar.
