Franklin Street Properties’ (FSP) office building at 1293 Eldridge Parkway, Houston, Texas, US, has secured LEED Gold certification in the Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance category from the US Green Building Council.

The facility covers an area of roughly 248,400ft2, which is completely rented by CITGO Petroleum.

The sustainability approaches of the facility include plumbing fittings to save water and reflective roofing materials that reduce the heat island effect and contribute to energy conservation.

FSP also initiated an energy audit to improve the building’s energy efficiency.

Materials and resources at the building, including construction waste and durable materials, have been redirected away from landfills through recycling efforts.

A green cleaning programme and integrated pest management system have also been implemented in the facility to improve internal air quality.
