A KFC restaurant in Indianapolis, US, has secured LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

The restaurant received certification for implementing a range of green design and building features during the construction process, enabling it to reduce the use of energy and water by 25%.

The sustainable design incorporates energy-efficient cooking equipment, low-power, long-life LED lighting, locally sourced building materials, fixtures designed for lower water use, waste recycling (including cooking oil and plastics) and many other green innovations.

During the construction process, the building used locally sourced and manufactured materials.
