Kungsfiskaren, a unit of Peab, has secured a Skr170m ($24.4m) contract from Svenska Bostader to remodel low-rise buildings in Vastberga, Sweden.

The contract includes regeneration of five blocks of low-rise buildings, including 195 flats and 25 commercial premises that were constructed between 1945 and 1949.

Under the project Kungsfiskaren will recreate and preserve characteristic 1940s architectural features in the buildings that were removed during renovations in the 1970s.

During the renovation, several measures will be added to reduce energy consumption including additional insulation of facades, new low-energy windows, ventilation systems with heat recovery and energy-efficient equipment.
