Ipswich City Properties and Leighton Properties have broken ground on the $1bn Ipswich CBD regeneration project in Queensland, Australia.

Ipswich City Properties and Leighton Properties have broken ground on the $1bn Ipswich CBD regeneration project in Queensland, Australia.

The development, called ICON Ipswich, will span four city blocks to deliver a ‘new-generation’ city centre comprising 170,000m2 of master-planned commercial, retail, residential and public space.

The first stage of the development includes construction of a nine-storey, A-Grade commercial tower on the corner of Brisbane and Bell Streets.

The future stages of the development will deliver additional commercial towers, residential towers and a 60,000m2 regional shopping centre with cinemas and community amenities, including a public library and car parking.
