Muse Developments has secured planning consent from Swindon Borough Council in the UK for the first phase of a £330m Swindon town centre redevelopment scheme named Union Square.

The proposed plans include 650,000ft2 of offices, 150,000ft2 of retail, an 850-space multi-story car park and 450 residential units, of which 25% will be affordable homes.

The project plans also include a new Primary Health Care Trust building, a new bus station, a hotel, a new public square, and signalised junctions at Gordon Road and Whalebridge roundabout.

Muse Developments expects to begin building work on the first phase of the regeneration project in April 2012.
