Developer Quintain has awarded McLaren with two building contracts, worth more than £90m, at its Wembley Park development in London, UK.
Commenced in 2004, Wembley Park is a five million square feet mixed-use development underway near the National Stadium in the city.
McLaren will now be responsible for new build development on W03 and W06 plots of the park.
The mixed-use project on plot W03 includes 320,000ft² of residential and retail space with one ten storey block and another block of 15 storeys.
Together the blocks will comprise 340 build-to-rent units, associated common spaces, and retail units on ground floor.
McLaren will be involved in the construction of a reinforced concrete frame and a brickwork façade with offsite prefabricated bathroom pods, along with external works such as a new roadway.
The firm also entered a contract for early works and pre-construction services agreement (PSCA) on the W06 plot, where it will realign a section of road called Perimeter Way West and install underground services below the road.
The company will also be responsible for temporary sheet piling installation, minimised level excavations and load-bearing piling for the upcoming residential and commercial buildings on the plot.
McLaren Major Projects regional managing director John Butten said: “Our commitment and dedication working with Quintain and the design consultants to achieve success has been rewarded by the further appointment to a PCSA stage on the adjoining plot, which is due to be awarded later this year.”
The developments on both the plots are expected to be completed between next year and 2019.
