Rice University in the US is planning to invest $40m to build a new football complex and refurbish its 1940s-era stadium.

The football complex is proposed to be built on the south side of the stadium, and would house the university’s football operations, including coaches’ offices, locker rooms, meeting rooms, a weight room and training areas.

The improvements planned for the other parts of the stadium include maintenance of the existing stadium infrastructure.

The proposal is expected to be announced in early November and is yet to be approved by the Rice University board of trustees, according to the Houston Chronicle.
