Skanska makes investment in office project in Krakow, Poland

Sweden-based construction and development company Skanska has invested €48m in the first phase of an office project called High Five in Krakow, Poland.

Sweden-based construction and development company Skanska has invested €48m in the first phase of an office project called High Five in Krakow, Poland.

The first phase of the project includes construction of two office buildings, with six storeys above ground and two below ground for parking, and will provide a total leasable area of nearly 23,000m².

Known to be the company's biggest office development project in Krakow, the new complex will consist of five office buildings with a total leasable area of 70,000m².

Construction of the first phase of the project, which expects to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification, is expected to begin this month and is scheduled to be completed by the last quarter of next year.

Skanska's Commercial Development Europe starts and develops different office property projects in metropolitan areas of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Poland.

The company employs 43,100 people in Europe and North America.

IT, consultancy and outsourcing services provider Capgemini occupied the building, construction of which was completed in 18 months.

The building is part of four planned office buildings within complex and foundation laying activities for the third building, Silesia Business Park C has been completed.
