Skanska has secured a £142m contract from Consolidated Developments to construct the St Giles Circus development in the West End of London, UK.
Skanska is expected to include the deal in its order bookings for Europe in the third quarter of this fiscal year.
The project will combine entertainment, retail and leisure spaces, commercial offices and residential accommodation across four new buildings and a number of existing buildings.
Skanska will be required to retain some of the site's heritage elements such as façades as part of the arrangement. The company is also set to refurbish listed buildings, including some that date back to 1666.
The firm is combining its skills in design, piling and foundations, temporary works and construction to deliver the project, as well as its expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering.
Work under the contract has commenced and is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2020.
Skanska is a construction company that currently has European operations in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the UK.
The company develops commercial properties in select local markets in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary, and residential developments in Prague and Warsaw.
Skanska reported sales of Skr36bn last year, and employed roughly 16,500 personnel across its various European operations.
