UK-based construction firm VolkerFitzpatrick has started design and development of a £22.8m office in Weybridge, Surrey.

The developer will construct two buildings adjacent to the existing ones at the Bourne business park.

Designed by TPBennett, the development will feature 90,000ft² of high-quality commercial space, along with 4,000ft² allocated for cafés and a multi-level parking structure.

VolkerFitzpatrick project manager Alan Clark said: "We are delighted to be undertaking this high-profile project for LaSalle Investment Management.

LaSalle Investment Management development director Andrew Derry said: "We believe that building two offices of 40,000ft² and 50,000ft² (net) will be very attractive to occupiers where there is a current shortage in Grade A supply.

"The offices have fantastic parking with 470 spaces, which is unique for a new office scheme; safeguarded from an earlier planning consent."

The project will include exterior landscaping works, as well as development of an access track for the Environment Agency to maintain and protect the River Wey.

Works for the project started in July when VolkerGround Engineering initiated piling activities at the site.

VolkerFitzpatrick expects to complete the office development in September 2016.
