The Bracknell Forest Cambium Partnership has secured planning permission for its proposed Coopers Hill regeneration project in the UK.

Subject to a Section 106 agreement, the approval allows for the development of the Coopers Hill site on the edge of Bracknell town centre.

The project forms part of £124m regeneration of Bracknell Town Centre which involves redevelopment of three council-owned sites – Market Street, Jubilee Gardens and Coopers Hill.

Launched by the joint venture partnership between Countryside and Bracknell Forest Council, the full regeneration programme aims to further revitalise the town centre while providing homes in the centre of the borough.

Upon completion, the Coopers Hill project will provide 52 new homes comprising 12 two-bedroom flats, six three-bedroom flats, 22 two-bedroom houses and 12 three-bedroom houses.

The new home, of which 25% will be affordable homes, will be located within walking distance of all the new amenities, shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.

Moreover, the site will feature new car and bike parking spaces, new pedestrian walkways and additional landscaping including a full tree planting programme.

Work on the project is planned to commence later this year with first new homes slated for completion in 2023.

Bracknell Forest Council Economic Development and Regeneration executive member Marc Brunel-Walker said: “The redevelopment of Coopers Hill is a significant part of our overarching regeneration of Bracknell town centre – the first new town to be comprehensively redesigned and regenerated.

“Achieving planning permission is a key milestone in realising our joint vision for the site, which will seek to bring much-needed new homes for families right on the doorstep of the new shops, restaurants, leisure and entertainment facilities that we have in the heart of Bracknell town centre.”
