Willmott Dixon has partnered with North Tyneside Council to deliver a net-zero transport hub and town square in North Shields, UK.

The transport hub will bring all bus services in North Shields together. The hub will also be closer to Metro, taxis and cycling infrastructure.

The project also features a new open town square for events and promote leisure activities with a new public realm that would create green space and increase biodiversity in the town.

The square will connect the town centre to the Fish Quay through a series of walkways, offering improved accessibility with step-free routes and steps with handrails.

This scheme undertook a Life Cycle Carbon Assessment at the earliest stage to reduce carbon footprint.
