Cornami Develops Next-Generation Intelligent Computing

Concept: California’s tech company Cornami has developed software-defined TruStream computing architecture that can offer real-time computing power for critical and complex applications. The new solution enables enterprises to accelerate the adoption of Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) to encrypt data against post-quantum threats.

Nature of Disruption: Trusteram computing architecture reduces application latency in the cloud and at the network’s edge and also lowers the overall power consumption of apps. It enables enterprises to adopt FHE faster by providing a high-performance computing solution that enables post-quantum encryption to function more efficiently. The TruStream reconfigurable computing fabric consists of reconfigurable cores surrounded by SRAM (static random-access memory) and is integrated by a high-speed network. The software-defined cores are created using FracTLcores and can be controlled and configured using software based on the function. Cornami claims that the new solution can express all forms of parallelism and can operate asynchronously.

Outlook: FHE allows for extracting intelligent data analytics without decrypting the data to expose the underlying plaintext data. Currently, FHE is too computationally intensive to be commercially practical. Cornami claims that the Trustream computing architecture enables enterprises to adopt FHE quickly and enables computing on encrypted data. In May 2022, Cornami raised $65 million in a Series C funding round led by Softbank Vision Fund 2. The company aims to use the funding to expand its operations of the company and develop new digital technologies.
