US-based practice Kliment Halsband Architects has completed the $85m facilities renovation at Johns Hopkins University’s Gilman Hall.
The three-year renovation will allow the ten humanities departments to be housed in the same building.
The building will feature a 60ft×60ft light well, which will be covered by a glass skylight to create an atrium, according to the Baltimore Sun.
The restoration features the Johns Hopkins Archaeological Museum, which will open on 4 December 2010 and will feature nine large white vessels created by sculptor Kendall Buster.
