Art Centre Expansion Planned in US

A new facility for Ballet West and a revamp of the Capitol Theater in Utah, US, is to be carried out as part of the $32m Salt Lake City revitalisation programme. The existing Capitol Theater will be renovated while a new ballet academy will be built on a site west of the theatre.

A new facility for Ballet West and a revamp of the Capitol Theater in Utah, US, is to be carried out as part of the $32m Salt Lake City revitalisation programme.

The existing Capitol Theater will be renovated while a new ballet academy will be built on a site west of the theatre.

The new building, named the Jessie Eccles Quinney Center for Dance will house a new ballet academy, rehearsal halls and costume spaces.

Of the $32m needed to build the expansion, $12m has already been raised.

Construction will commence in 2012 and will be complete in 2013.
