US-based Matthew Alderman Studios has unveiled a revised design for the St. Paul Catholic Student Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US.
The previous design drew concerns from city planners over mass and height in April.
However, the new 14-storey scheme will be compatible with the adjacent historic buildings and will be built at a cost of $45m.
The new building integrates a chapel and student centre on the lower levels with several stories of student housing.
The design plan will be submitted to the Madison Landmarks Commission, Urban Design Commission and the City Council for approval.
Centre officials hope to break ground in two to three years.
