International practice Zaha Hadid Architects is to renovate an existing building in Kensington Gardens to create a new Serpentine Gallery in London, England.

The new Serpentine Sackler Gallery is to be built following an agreement made with the Royal Parks.

A planning application is due for submission in 2011 for the facility to be built in the grade II-listed Magazine building.

It will feature a restaurant and cafe, a shop and an adjoining pavilion.

The gallery building is due to open in time for the 2012 Olympics Games, according to bdonline.co.uk.
