Museum board trustees have approved the design for a new $26.7m facility to house the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland, Ohio, US.
The 3,158.7m² facility has been designed by UK-based practice Foreign Office Architects and is expected to open in 2012.
Ground-breaking is scheduled this year for the four-storey structure, which will be located on a triangular site.
The structure’s main exhibition gallery will be on the fourth floor, according to crainscleveland.com.
The new museum’s mirror façade changes appearance according to light and weather, while the glazed windows give the building an unified volume.
