A UK and South Korea consortium has unveiled the design for a new research station, as part of a competition to design South Korea's second station in the Antarctic. The UK-based Hugh Broughton Architects and South Korea's Samoo Architects proposal features a traditional Korean design

A UK and South Korea consortium has unveiled the design for a new research station, as part of a competition to design South Korea's second station in the Antarctic.

The UK-based Hugh Broughton Architects and South Korea's Samoo Architects proposal features a traditional Korean design featuring a series of GPR-clad modules.

The winning proposal will house a new outpost for the Korean Polar Research Institute at Terra Nova Bay.

A constortium led by Hyundai Construction will also compete in the competition, according to bdonline.co.uk.
