Ground-breaking for a new A$75m (US$75.3) health and wellbeing centre for the Australian Catholic University in New South Wales, Australia, will take place this month.

The energy efficient centre will comprise lecture theatres and learning facilities, a gymnasium, bookshop, chapel, student centre and a rooftop garden.

The development, designed by Woods Bagot Architects, is expected to achieve the six-star green star energy rating.

The nine-storey development will incorporate a range of environmentally sustainable initiatives including rainwater harvesting, solar hot water heating panels and wind turbines.

The project will be complete by 2012.
