The planned expansion and renovation of the Clapp Memorial Library in Belchertown, Massachusetts, US, has been stalled due to lack of funds.
The $9.3m renovation included the addition of a new wing to the back of the 836m² structure.
It may take another two to three years to receive another state grant to fund part of the expansion.
The town qualified for a $3.3m state grant, which was rejected by the voters, and the grant has since lapsed.
The library authorities will continue to raise funds for the project, according to masslive.com.
