Manhattan Construction broke ground at the new George W Bush Presidential Center located at the Southern Methodist University in Texas, US.
The 13th presidential library complex includes the George W Bush Presidential Library and the George W Bush Institute, and will be located on a 93,077m² site.
Architect Robert AM Stern and landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh designed the centre.
The 21,048m² building plans to achieve LEED platinum certification, and incorporates many sustainable elements into the design.
The master plan includes a 60,702m² urban park and a Texas Rose Garden featuring native landscaping and a rainwater collection system.
The centre will house the archives for President Bush and 43,000 artifacts from the Bush Administration.
