Melbourne-based architectural firm Fender Katsalidis has been selected to design Malaysia's tallest tower, which will be located in Kuala Lumpur.

The tower will measure more than 580m in height and have more than 100 storeys

The cost and detailed drawings have not been disclosed yet.

Fender Katsalidis director Karl Fender said it would be a crystalline building with a shape inspired by Islamic patterning.
