Remodelling work will begin to convert an old building into the new 48.4bn won ($42m) National Museum of Korean Contemporary History in Seoul, South Korea.

Work will involve conversion of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's building into the new museum without changing the design.

The museum committee is currently in the process of selecting a company for exhibition content design, which will be completed by the end of this month.

The deadline for completion of the remodelling is set for the end of 2012, revealed Kim Jin-hyun, chairman of the committee preparing the museum said at a press conference in Seoul.
