Dutch architecture firm UNStudio and DP Architects have been selected to design the new campus for the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
UNStudio will collaborate with DP Architects to design the new development.
The campus has been designed along two main axes – the living and learning spines – which overlap to create a focal point and the forum, bringing all corners of the campus together.
The SUTD will house the university’s four central academic departments: Architecture and Sustainable Design (ASD), Engineering Product Development (EPD), Engineering Systems and Design (ESD) and Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD).
UNStudio founder Ben van Berkel said the main aim of the design was to create a campus that celebrates both teaching and learning in an open and transparent way.
