Work at the proposed $200m Miami Art Museum in Florida, US, will begin this month.
Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron has designed the development, which will be located on a 16,187m² site at the Bicentennial Park.
The project will receive $30m from private donors, $100m from voter-approved bonds and $70m from the local county.
The Paratus Group has been appointed as the museum’s planning consultant while John Moriarty & Associates is the general contractor.
Work is expected to be completed within 28 months and the venue will be open by 2013, according to The Miami Herald.
