Construction work on a SEK170m ($24.5m) soccer stadium in Växjö, Sweden, will begin in March 2011, following approval from the local council.

NCC Construction Sweden has been commissioned by Swedish football club Östers IF to construct the stadium.

The 12,000-seat arena will also feature a 500-seat restaurant and between 15 and 20 boxes.

The arena will be built on a split level – visitors will enter on the ground floor, but the field will be located 3m below.

The project is being funded by the local municipal council and is scheduled for completion in July 2012.
