The £21m ($32.7m) Robert Burns Birthplace Museum has been opened in Ayrshire, Scotland.

The 1600m² museum, delivered by the National Trust for Scotland, has been dedicated to the national poet.

The development is located on the former Burns National Heritage Park site in Alloway.

The project, which took six years to complete, will feature more than 5,000 artefacts, including original manuscripts written by the poet.
