Plans for a new athletic complex at Louisiana Tech University in the US have been approved by the board of supervisors for the University of Louisiana System.
The university will now seek architects to design and construct the facility, which will be built at the south end of the Joe Aillet Stadium for the university’s Foundation and Athletic Department.
The multipurpose development will include a sports medicine facility, a strength and conditioning complex and an academic centre.
The building will also house an administrative suite with offices and meeting areas, locker rooms, an auditorium and an equipment room.
Global design firm Populous had earlier provided conceptual design and estimates for the building is part of a larger facilities master plan.
The project received $9m in private leadership gifts and expects to raise adequate support within the next 24 months, according to shreveporttimes.com.
