The central core of the 72-storey Shard development in London, England, has been completed.
The Shard has reached a height of 244m and is set to reach 310m upon completion in 2012, making it the tallest building in the EU.
The building, designed by architect Renzo Piano, will feature 72 storeys plus 15 additional radiator floors on the roof.
The building is being developed by Irvine Sellar.
The Shangri-La Hotel will occupy 18 floors of the hotel, according to express.co.uk.
