Polish Museum to Complete in 2012

Work on the new Museum of History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, Poland, is 50% complete and is scheduled to open in March 2012.

The $144m project has been designed by Finnish architect Rainer Mahlamaki and features curved walls, seven permanent exhibition spaces, temporary displays spaces, an educational centre, a cinema and conference halls.

The 15,000m² project is being co-financed by the Polish Government, the city of Warsaw and funds raised from private donors.

The installation of the exhibitions is estimated at about &;128;25m ($33m) which will be raised by the Polish Jewish Historical Institute, according to the museum authority.
