Ayers Saint Gross Architects have unveiled the designs for a new combined arena and convention centre in Baltimore, US, which is expected to cost $1bn.
The project is being delivered by Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC).
The development includes an 18,500-seat arena, a 37,162m² extension to the existing Baltimore Convention Center, and a 500-room Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel.
The project could take seven years to complete with the opening of the arena and expanded convention centre in mid-2017, if the proposals are approved.
Final recommendation by the GBC on whether or not to proceed and how to pay for the project is expected early next year, according to bizjournals.com.
