Turkey-based Ronesans Holding and its Austrian partner PORR will build a new €200m ($263.6m) football stadium in Tripoli, Libya.

The 50,000-seat stadium will be built according to UEFA standards and is expected to be the biggest football stadium in North Africa.

The roof of the stadium will be built on three steel arches that rise 100m to symbolise the ancient cities of Oea, Leptis Magna and Sabratha, according to libyaonline.com.

The facility have enough parking space for 10,000 vehicles.

Construction of the stadium is expected to complete in 2013, in time for the Africa Cup of Nations.
