Contractor Saudi Al Terais has completed work on the new headquarters for the Ministry of Higher Education in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The 115,800m² sustainable building will house an 800-seat auditorium, 20 meeting rooms and three training centres.

The 15-storey tower will include 47,200m² for parking and an adjoining 9,448m² conference hall building.

Baud Telecom Company (BTC) provided a smart building system, which includes the integration of the network cable plant, the use of open architecture, and system protocols and databases.

BTC Networks also provided cabling, lighting controls, and a variety of building management systems including audiovisual technology and wireless data, and a wireless data and voice system.

The building's HVAC, BMS, lighting, public address, fire alarm, access control, IPTV, CCTV and other mentioned systems will be integrated through an open IP, KNX and BacNet-based protocols.

This will allow the facility to be managed from a centralised controlled point or even IP phones, cellular phones, PDAs or smart phones.

BTC is a telecommunication vendor and infrastructure provider.
