Skanska is to begin work on the second phase of the Tennet office project worth Skr300m ($45m) on Gullbergsstrand in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The new phase will be connected to the existing first phase, which was completed in 2001.

The second phase includes the construction of 12,500m² of office space, slated to be completed by the end of 2012.

The complete Tennet project comprises about 17,000m² of leasable space with 90 underground parking spaces.

The second phase of Tennet will be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certified and is also set to meet the requirements for EU Green Building registration.

Sustainable solutions at the office include sedum plants on the roof, an energy-efficient ventilation system, and use of eco-labelled products during construction.
