An insurance provider’s headquarters in Iowa, US has received the LEED Gold certification, becoming the largest building in Iowa to achieve this level of green recognition.
Aviva’s HQ has become the 24th LEED Gold building in Iowa.
The eight-storey facility incorporated sustainable features including motion-sensor and auto-dimming lighting; high-efficiency ventilation systems, water-efficient fixtures; a pond system that collects and retains rainwater runoff and more.
Aviva USA president and CEO Chris LittleField said, “Environmental responsibility and sustainability is a core value of our corporation. We knew from the start that attaining gold-level LEED certification would be a challenge given we were building from scratch
on a new site. We are so proud that our commitment to designing and building an environmentally friendly US operations headquarters has been recognised by the US Green Building Council.”
