An international contest has been launched to design the new £30m ($46.5m) building that will house the Royal Air Force Museum's Battle of Britain collection in Hendon, UK.

The contest is being run by Malcolm Reading Consultants.

The new landmark at the Royal Air Force Museum will showcase around a dozen aircraft and tell the story of a major event in UK history, according to The Architects' Journal.

Leeds-based Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBS) provided the initial designs for a 116m-tower with an overall strategic direction and core concept.
