Designed by global architectural practice Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum (HOK), the new museum will house the collection of art by Spanish surreal artist Salvador Dalí.
The 6,174m² building will feature gallery space, a theatre, retail store and community space, classrooms and a library.
Another distinct feature of the museum project is the spiral staircase in the shape of a DNA strand.
