ACC Secures Contract for Masdar Campus in Abu Dhabi

UAE-based Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has secured a AED750m ($204m) construction contract for the expansion of the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) campus in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Located adjacent to the existing MIST campus, the expansion project is the second phase of construction and is being managed by Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties.

The 82,000m² project will include student lodgings, seven open laboratories, a conference facility, a swimming pool and a gym.

The new campus will also include energy-efficient design including natural ventilation and heat reflecting façades.

Construction is expected to be completed by June 2012.

MIST campus is being built at the centre of carbon-neutral Masdar City which is being developed by Abu Dhabi-based Masdar.
